100 Years of Type in Design
Springworks worked with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the design firm Pentagram to create an exhibit as part of a celebration of the AIGA’s centennial year. Springworks removed a previous exhibit, engineered, built and hung a video wall, and installed floor graphics, cut vinyl, window graphics, wall-mounted Plexiglas panels, display plinths with tablet mounts, display tables, a light box, shelving, floating wall-mounted and framed prints. The exhibit also included overhead lighting, a ceiling-mounted video projector, and wall-mounted display monitors. Springworks produced a meet-and-greet webinar for the event kick-off, maintained the exhibit during its 3-month-long run, and when completed, removed all structures and graphics.
Pencil to Pixel
Springworks worked with Monotype and Lippincott to create an exhibit celebrating the craft and scope of Monotype’s fonts and technology. After the initial site survey and exploration of fabrication ideas, Springworks built and installed this exhibit in one day, finishing in time for an evening launch party. The build for this project included exhibit and light table fabrication, lighting, fabric and flat walls, framed prints, and cut vinyl graphics. Springworks maintained the installation elements throughout the week-long event. When the event was completed, Springworks removed graphics and stored all the display element for future use.
